Sam Surridge joined Nashville SC from Nottingham Forest in July of 2023.

The English striker was brought in to shore up a Nashville attack that had long relied on Hany Mukhtar to score the goals and not much else. Two previous designated player level strikers had come before Surridge and both had been found wanting.

Super Sam found his footing quickly in Leagues Cup as he scored in his first three matches for the club to help Nashville SC reach the Leagues Cup final where they fell to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in penalty kicks.

His success in Major League Soccer competition was a little more fleeting thanks to injury derailing much of the rest of his 2023 campaign. Gary Smith and the Nashville faithful will be hoping Surridge is finally the answer at the #9 to take some of the pressure off of Mukhtar.
