Brian Schwake earned the job of Nashville SC’s number one goalkeeper entering the 2026 MLS season.

He was signed ahead of the 2025 season and his performance for the Boys in Gold during the 2025 US Open Cup competition — leading to NSC’s first silverware as US Open Cup champions — helped the club arrive at the shift from Joe Willis to Schwake. Joe Willis had been Nashville’s number one since the club’s inception in Major League Soccer in 2020.

Schwake has quickly taken the reins and been on a record setting pace in his brief time between the sticks for the club.

He wore this jersey on April 18th, 2026 against Atlanta United. I was able to photomatch Schwake in the shirt to the April 18th match thanks to those stains on the shoulder.
